Programmes

The Department currently runs two undergraduate programmes,

i) B.Sc. Mathematics

ii) B.Sc. Actuarial Science

The Department also runs two masters programmes leading to M.Phil (Mathematics) M.Phil. (Industrial Mathematics), under the distance learning  mode with the Institute of Distance Learning (IDL). It also offers Ph.D. degree in various areas in Mathematical Sciences. The Department envisages to run a new graduate programme, M.Phil (Actuarial Science), come August, 2008 which has since received the approval of the Academic Board  but yet to be accredited by the National Accreditation Board. Arrangements have been completed to also offer the B.Sc. (Actuarial Science) at the IDL in the next academic year.

The proposal for the establishment of a parallel B.Sc. programme in Mathematics and Business in collaboration with KNUST School of Business (KSB) has since received the approval of the College Board and is now awaiting the approval of the Academic Board for its take off possibly this year.  A bachelor and masters programmes in Statistics are also being proposed for their establishments. The committee tasked for this job will soon submit its report to the Mathematics Board for onward submission to the appropriate bodies for further consideration and approval.
